Edoardo Liberati set for a thrilling 24H Spa edition
Edoardo Liberati will race his fourth 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. The Italian has confirmed his participation in the Belgian event scheduled for 29 July/1 August and valid for the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup and the Intercontinental GT.
Liberati will drive one of the two Porsche 911 GT3 R cars fielded by team KCMG alongside Swiss Alexandre Imperatori and Australian Josh Burdon, the same ones with wich - sharing duties with the fourth man Marco Holzer - he unluckily haven't finished the most recent 24 Hours of Nürburgring.
Over the seven and more kms of the Ardennes track, Liberati can boast a lot of experience having raced there in many championships and entered three editions of the 24 Hours in 2012, 2019 - when he took his best ever position finishing 18th - and 2020.
Liberati will head to Belgium with great enthusiasm, considering the excellent result of the colletive testing held early this week. The Rome-based racer set the quickest lap of 2:22.155 over 59 cars on Monday sessions in wet conditions.
During the second day the Porsche run by the Hong Kong's outfit finished second.
"The collective testing went well as we showed to have a great pace in wet and dry conditions", Liberati commented. "I'm very confident for the next 24 Hours. We feel we have a great potential... and Porsche won the last two editions of the race".
Now one month-break will follow before the event.
