Liberati flies high in NLS 6-hour race despite retirement
Race 5 of Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie came prematurely to a halt for Edoardo Liberati and the KCMG Porsche 911 GT3 R shared with team-mates Josh Burdon and Alexandre Imperatori.
The 6-hour race held at the Nordschleife track, that was a late race-test for the Rome-based ace, had also positive sides.
On Saturday, Burdon started from the 11th row to move up to third before handing over the car to Liberati. The Italian recovered second fighting with Kevin Estre's twin car and Kelvin van der Linde's Audi. Unfortunately Imperatori had a contact with the other Audi of Dries Vanthoor during the third stint and definitely stopped.
"This was our race. Our target was victory or a podium finish", Liberati said, "The KCMG car was hugely performant, one of the fastest Porsche on track indeed. I think this race was very positive for us looking forward the 24 Hour”.
The 24 Hours of Nürburgring is scheduled for late September, on 26/27. Meanwhile Liberati will face more international commitments that will be announced soon.
